About me:
My name is Marco Catani, I was born in Milan (Italy) on the 31st December 1975. Currently living in Milan, but who knows where the future will take me...
Education:
I studied Mathematics and Physics for two years at University of
Milan. Then I moved to the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in the same University, for a 5 year
degree. I graduated in year 2000. Final mark: 110/110 cum laude.
I spent one semester at the Southbank University of
London studying "Human Interaction Processing and Cognitive Models" and "Advanced Aspects of
Multimedia", doing practical research on the field.
Professional Experience:
Since 2001 I've been working for Reply S.p.A, one of the biggest Italian companies in the field of information technology, quoted on the Italian stock market. I'm currently User Centered Design Manager and Web Marketing Manager. I'm in charge of:
- interaction design related issues
- (social) information architecture
- social media marketing
- search engine marketing and optimization (SEM/SEO)
- web sentiment analysis and web analytics
From 2005 to 2008 I've been a freelancer offering consulting job to different companies on subjects that range from content analysis and information design, to search engine marketing.
Since 2006 I'm teaching User Centered Design, Search Engine Marketing, and Web 2.0 Concepts at "Web and Multimedia Design" master - Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milano.
Since 2007 certified trainer for Web 2.0 university
Since march 2008 I'm not a freelancer anymore. I manage full time the company I've been working for many years: formerly Aware Reply, now bitmama, a joint venture between Reply and Armando Testa. I keep anyway lecturing at Scuola Politecnica di Design.
